Inspiration Crochet Fashion Cortefiel

I have showcased some Zara brand crochet, crochet that isn’t actually crochet but rather machine-made faux-chet, because these items can sometimes serve as great inspiration starting points for crochet designs and upcycled DIY crochet projects. Today I want to do the same thing with Cortefiel, a brand that has some beautiful faux-chet pieces, including pieces in color, that make me want to do fun new things with my crochet hook.

I love the green, I love the way it’s combined with the amazing fabric print, and I love the unique shape of the neckline on this sleeveless Cortefiel shirt. I can see upcycling a sleeveless shirt with a crochet yoke in this style and color. And I can see creating a crochet blanket inspired by the colors and shapes in that beautiful fabric.

Here’s another Cortfiel shirt that inspires me in the same way – fabric along with crochet inserts in really unique placement and shaping.

This Cortefiel shirt dress has crochet inspiration on the top as well as the bottom, and I think the combination of the two has a powerful visual effect. This would be a great Coachella dress. I also love the styling – those boots!

Websites like these are also great for getting style ideas for how to wear your crochet. Here we’ve got a great example of black on black on black, layering different textures and getting a sophisticated effect. The crochet yoke on this sheer top serves as inspiration but so does the styling, at least for me.

This shirt has a unique shape with a square neckline that is still feminine. The femininity is enhanced by the crochet arms strips that go just to the top of the cuffs. It’s a fun shape and one I’d like to replicate entirely in crochet at some point. It could also be used as a DIY project idea – cut that portion out of the sleeves of an existing t-shirt and add rows of crochet in the same placement. Very cute!
